Game Rulebook - Understanding, mechanic and structure of a game - Component relative to "Sheets Costumes"

¤ It symbolizes a printable game component that is related to "Sheets Costumes" in the form of Page(s) of full page standard sheet size of A4. ( Remember that the more pages you will print "Sheets Costumes" ... ... the more "Sheets Costumes" you will have to use ... ... imagine that you run out of "Sheets Costumes" during a game ... ... it would be really bad, wouldn't it? ... ... that's why you should always have more than you need ... ... but by default, in the "STANDARD" or "SOLO" game type ... ... look at the minimum number of pages to print (see below). ) ¤ The "Sheets Costumes" are symbolized by an illustration and descriptive captions (2 at most) on each "Sheets Costumes". ¤ The descriptive caption(s) indicated on each "Sheets Costumes" component indicates the effect of each "Sheets Costumes". ¤ The "Sheets Costumes" are what can simply be considered ... ... "masteries offering various modifiers in the form of passive effects influencing the gains or losses of various components of the game (moves, picks etc...)". The "Sheets Costumes" are necessary for other components of the game... ... in particular to grant a certain influence to the CandiesCollectors ... ... who has influence on the different phases of the game with interesting passive effects. The "Sheets Costumes" can be used to improve a little bit everything ... ... but some "Sheets Costumes" are cursed: (see below concerning the bonuses and malus of the "Sheets Costumes"). Cursed "Sheets Costumes" are easily recognizable: they have no bonuses, and only malus. However, in some circumstances the cursed "Sheets Costumes" can be much more useful: for example, when moving on the "Game Board" ... ... the cursed "Sheets Costumes" would grant in certain situations a lesser FORWARD or BACKWARD. ¤ The "Sheets Costumes" are obtained (unless otherwise indicated) in one way only: - "Cards Surprises!" ¤ Unless otherwise specified, each CandiesCollectors may hold only one "Sheets Costumes" on his or her side of the game at a time ... ... ( this limitation is taken from real life based on the following logical reasoning: you can't dress up as a witch and put on a vampire outfit at the same time, that would have absolutely no reasonable dress code and would be impractical). ). ¤ Unless otherwise noted, ~ each "Sheets Costumes" drawn from the "Sheets Costumes" pile must be done from above. ~ each "Sheets Costumes" put back into play must be replaced (in a shuffled order) under the "Sheets Costumes" pile. ¤ You can generate new "Sheets Costumes" effects... ... with the generator that Arts 4 Sale has developed ... ... which is available on the Arts 4 Sale web server... ... to anyone who wants to generate more possibilities. (see the chapter "Generation Tools"). ¤ If despite the generator at your disposal you do not find your happiness among the effects of the components "Sheets Costumes" ... ... nothing prevents you from defining some yourself ... ... (the definition of your effects must respect the proportion of the icons of the components which are in the game) ... ... (look at the PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS to have a graphic base to print according to your preferences) ... ... and then you are free to use your creations. ¤ If you don't find your happiness among the components "Sheets Costumes" ... ... nothing prevents you to illustrate yourself ... ... (the dimension of your drawings must respect at best the proportion of the components "Sheets Costumes" already existing) ... ... (look at the PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS to have a graphic base to print according to your preferences) ... ... and then feel free to use your own beautiful illustrations. ¤ PRINTING INSTRUCTIONS: - The "Sheets Costumes" components are not colored, but if you wish, you may very well color them (once printed). - Each "Sheets Costumes" page is named as follows: > `Page - [*]` (where * is a number). > Each `Page - [*]` corresponds to a single "Sheets Costumes" component. > Print as many `Page - [*]` pages as desired/required for your game. # A minimum number of pages is required - see for the different game types: "STANDARD" or "SOLO". > (EXTRA) `Page [empty - vierge] - [illustration]` > > Each `Page [empty - vierge] - [illustration]` corresponds to a diverse and varied set of "Sheets Costumes" components ... ... with illustrations, without effects (but with all the remaining details). > (EXTRA) `Page [empty - vierge] - [zero illustration]` > > Each `Page [empty - vierge] - [zero illustration]` corresponds to a diverse and varied set of "Sheets Costumes" components ... ... without effects or illustrations (but with all the remaining details). ¤ Unless otherwise indicated, CandiesCollectors must keep for themselves this type of component of the game (except in the case of a replay, because unless otherwise indicated, they are passive effect). Consider them a consumable resource because unless otherwise noted, they are single-use. ¤ By the use of the term "Passive Effect", this means that: Their effect must always be applied whenever the following situation is instantiated: - When the CandiesCollectors wearing it gets or loses any of these game components ("Tickets Treats", "Tickets Tricks", "Tokens Movements"). (Unless otherwise noted, during a Gathering in Street, the passive effect of "Sheets Costumes" is NEVER applicable.) ( for more details and clarifications on passive effects ... ... see the HELP ON THE LOGIC OF BALANCING AND THE BEHAVIOR OF "Sheets Costumes" below) ). _______________ ¤ HELP WITH THE BALANCING LOGIC AND BEHAVIOR OF "Sheets Costumes" (whether or not you use the "Sheets Costumes" Generator or EXTRA pages of the "Sheets Costumes" component). (and whether or not you wish to define "Sheets Costumes" effects yourself) ... It is important to apply these balances and limitations and to understand the applications of their behavior ! ... (a) A "Sheets Costumes" can have from 1 to 2 effects maximum. (b) And some can have a malus/bonus (or two malus/bonuses). (c) Each effect (bonus as well as malus) is displayed in the side edge of the "Sheets Costumes". So, on the left as well as on the right. In addition, In the case of a malus: They must be applied in priority. IF A MALUS EFFECT NULLIFIES A VALUE: THEN. THE BONUS EFFECT WILL NOT BE APPLIED. "Oh dear, the cape of my vampire costume has a tear... Damn it. We will only see this :( " ( in other words the effect "Sheets Costumes" low-cost (T_T) ). (d) The "Tickets Treats" effect: It can be at (bonus)GAIN (+) or (malus)LOSS (-). And the effect value can be up to 3. It has this passive effect: whenever the CandiesCollectors WINS or LOSES "Tickets Treats", The modifier due to the "Sheets Costumes" affects the number to add (+) or subtract (-). Examples: #1 - Stashed Girl gets 3 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating a bonus effect so a GAIN (+) of 2 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl will therefore earn (3 + 2) = 5 "Tickets Treats". #2 - Stashed Girl gets 3 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating a malus effect so a LOSS (-) of 2 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl will therefore gain (3 - 2) = 1 "Tickets Treats". #3 - malus always takes precedence: - Stashed Girl gets 3 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has a Stashed Girl has a "Costume Card" indicating a LOSS (-) of 3 "Tickets Treats" and a BENEFIT (+) of 2 "Tickets Treats". - Stashed Girl would therefore theoretically gain ((3 - 3) + 2) = 2 "Tickets Treats". - Except that, according to the NULLIFICATION rule, since after applying the malus [3 - 3 = 0] (which always take priority) the value is 0 (or lower), Stashed Girl will not win anything! (unless the GAIN (+) bonus involves another game component not affected by the LOSS (-) malus). The additional acquisition of "Tickets Treats", following the application of the "Modifier" of the "Sheets Costumes" ... ... seront à piocher comme stipulé dans le chapitre [Composant relatif à "Tickets Friandises"]. The loss of "Tickets Treats", following the application of the "Modifier" of the "Sheets Costumes" ... ... will not be put back into play, if a "Modifier" of the "Sheets Costumes" after its application ... ... brings the final value to a lower number (below 0 (e.g. -3)), it is just considered that it does not go below 0, so nothing will be drawn, nor put back into play. The "Tickets Tricks" modifier effect: It can be (bonus)GAIN (+) or (malus)LOSS (-). And the effect value can be up to 2. This has this passive effect and only applies when using a "Tickets Tricks" out of or from the "Tickets Tricks" pile: whenever the CandiesCollectors WINS or LOSES "Tickets Tricks" from these sources, The modifier for the "Sheets Costumes" affects the number to add (+) or subtract (-). Examples: #1 - Stashed Girl gets a "Tickets Tricks" with a value of 9. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has a bonus effect so she has a GAIN (+) of 1 for each "Tickets Tricks". - Stashed Girl will have to apply a +1 modifier to her used/drawn "Tickets Tricks". - The final value of the "Tickets Tricks" will then be (9 + 1) = 10. #2 - Stashed Girl gets a "Tickets Tricks" with a value of 9. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has a malus effect so a LOSS (-) of 1 on each "Tickets Tricks". - Stashed Girl will therefore have to apply a -1 modifier to her used/drawn "Tickets Tricks". - The final value of the "Tickets Tricks" will then be (9 - 1) = 8. #3 - malus always takes precedence: - Stashed Girl gets a "Tickets Tricks" with a value of 2. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has an effect Stashed Girl has a "Costume Card" indicating that she has a malus effect of (-) 2 for each "Tickets Tricks" and a bonus effect of (+) 1 for each "Tickets Tricks". - The final value of the "Tickets Tricks" would then logically be ((2 - 2) + 1 ) = 1. - Except that, according to the NULLIFICATION rule, since after applying the malus [2 - 2 = 0] (which always take priority) the value is 0 (or less), Stashed Girl will not win anything! (unless the GAIN (+) bonus involves another game component not affected by the LOSS (-) malus). The "Tickets Tricks" are not drawn following the application of a bonus effect of the "Sheets Costumes", in this case, is evoked a "Modifier" and not a draw. The "Tickets Tricks" are not put back into play following the application of a bonus effect of the "Sheets Costumes", in this case, is evoked a "Modifier" and not a physical loss. The "Tokens Movements" effect: It can be (bonus)GAIN (+) or (malus)LOSS (-). And the value of the effect can be up to 4. A GAIN means to MOVE forward on the "Game Board" (in the direction of the solid arrows on the "Pawns Characters"). REMEMBER: `Forward' diagonals, unless otherwise noted, are prohibited. A LOSS means GOING BACK on the "Game Board" (in the REVERSE direction of the solid arrows on the "Pawns Characters". REMEMBER: ``Backward'' diagonals, unless otherwise noted, are prohibited. This has this passive effect and applies only when using a "Tokens Movements" out of or from the "Tokens Movements" pile: whenever the CandiesCollectors WINS or LOSES "Tokens Movements" from these sources, The modifier for the "Sheets Costumes" affects the number to add (+) or subtract (-). Examples: #1 - Stashed Girl draws/has a "Tokens Movements" with a value of 5. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has a bonus effect so she has a GAIN (+) of 4 on each "Tokens Movements". - Stashed Girl will therefore have to apply a +4 modifier to her used/drawn "Tokens Movements". - The final value of the "Tokens Movements" drawn/obtained will then be (5 + 4) = 9. #2 - Stashed Girl draws/obtains a "Tokens Movements" with a value of 5. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating that she has a malus effect so a LOSS (-) of 4 on each "Tokens Movements". - Stashed Girl will therefore have to apply a -4 modifier to her used/drawn "Tokens Movements". - The final value of the "Tokens Movements" drawn/obtained will then be (5 - 4) = 1. #3 - malus always takes precedence: - Stashed Girl draws/obtains a "Tokens Movements" with a value of 4. - Stashed Girl has a "Sheets Costumes" indicating she has a malus effect so a LOSS (-) of 4 on each "Tokens Movements" and a bonus effect so a GAIN of (+) 3 on each "Tokens Movements". - The final value of the "Tokens Movements" drawn/obtained would then logically be ((4 - 4) + 3) = 3. - Except that, according to the NULLIFICATION rule, since after applying the [4 - 4 = 0] malus (which always takes precedence) brings the value to 0 (or lower), Stashed Girl will not move! (unless the GAIN (+) bonus involves another component of the game not affected by the LOSS (-) malus). The "Tokens Movements" are not drawn following the application of a bonus effect of the "Sheets Costumes", in this case, is evoked a "Modifier" and not a draw. The "Tokens Movements" are not put back into play following the application of a bonus effect of the "Sheets Costumes", in this case, is evoked a "Modifier" and not a physical loss. _______________ ¤ The descriptive caption icon (upper left corner) for this game component is represented by the letter T (capitalized), ... ... overlaid with the letter o (lower case) within a letter O (upper case) (see image: ). ; Fun fact: during the first public tests, we were told that the icon looked like a little baby's pacifier /(^_^')\ ¤ WARNING: If a situation indicates to get one or more "Sheets Costumes" ... ... and there are no more "Sheets Costumes" available in the pile of "Sheets Costumes" ... ... then, no "Sheets Costumes" will be recovered (just ignore the draw effect).
